They have become nothing more than cash machines for political cronies at taxpayers expense. We now have WPB Mayor Jeri Muoio awarding a contract to a firm run by an idiot that pays $78,000 a month for 4 full time jobs and 4 part time jobs. That’s more than $9,000 a month for each job. And this mayor says its a great deal. The worst part of the deal is the utterly incompetent Kim Briesmeister will continue to run the CRA and run downtown into the ground. Since her & Lois Frankel took over more than a decade ago they have destroyed Clematis Street, done nothing to revitalize any of the adjoining neighborhoods, spent thousands on the local lesbian Mafia connected phony advertising firms who got absurd amounts of money to send out postcards to residents and watched a revolving door of businesses come & go downtown. There are more vacancies on Clematis now than ever before due to these two people and Mayor Moo Moo who have refused to acknowledge Clematis is a entertainment street. They want old lady shops as Frankel said - “We need more retail.” and she banned any new nightclubs from opening except when her son wanted to open a wine bar, she allowed that and then months after it opened passed an ordinance stopping any new bar-only operations from opening for a year. Over the past 2 months we all watched an absurd dog & pony show that was allegedly a competitive bid process required by law. Kim Briesmeister has been paid $128,000 a year to work 28 hours a week for years at taxpayer expense. That’s around $90 an hour. This is a woman who lied on her application about a college degree she did not have. Under WPB policy she should have been fired then as anyone else would have. The WPB CRA needs to be shut down and local government needs to keep their filthy hands off Clematis Street and let private industry revitalize the street again, it is not a ghetto and has no need for a CRA, especially one that is a complete fraud. Mayor Jeri Muoio showed everyone she is just as corrupt as Lois Frankel with her latest example of bad government.
